Dr. Asuman Özkan is an experienced medical doctor specializing in medical biochemistry and traditional & complementary medicine (GETAT).
Born in 1970 in Malatya, she completed her primary education in Malatya and her secondary education in Mersin. In 1988, she was admitted to Atatürk University Faculty of Medicine and graduated in 1996. She worked as a general practitioner for 5 years in various cities such as Ankara, Konya, and Erzurum, also serving in key positions like Head Physician and Environmental Health Branch Manager.
In 2002, she successfully passed the Medical Specialization Examination (TUS) and started her residency in Medical Biochemistry at Atatürk University. Between 2006 and 2011, she worked as the head of laboratories at Erzurum Numune Hospital and Erzurum Regional Training and Research Hospital. During this period, she authored Turkey’s first “Laboratory Quality Control Manual”, marking a significant milestone in clinical laboratory standards.
In 2012, Dr. Özkan began working at İzmir Katip Çelebi University Atatürk Training and Research Hospital. In 2014, she also started practicing in the newly established Acupuncture Outpatient Clinic at the same hospital. Between 2018 and 2020, she served at Ekol Hospital, providing care in both the biochemistry and alternative medicine departments.
Since 2020, she has been practicing in her private clinic, offering services in both general medicine and alternative therapies such as acupuncture and integrative health solutions.
Dr. Özkan is an active instructor in the field of Traditional and Complementary Medicine (GETAT), and a member of numerous national and international medical associations. She has more than 15 internationally published, PubMed-indexed research articles. She is married and has two children
