Education and Specialization
Prof. Dr. Celal Ayaz graduated from Dicle University Faculty of Medicine in 1980. Following graduation, he served at Muğla Health Center for approximately 18 months. He then completed his compulsory military service in Ankara.
Between 1985 and 1989, he completed his specialization in Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology at Dicle University Faculty of Medicine. At the same institution, he was appointed as Assistant Professor in 1990, Associate Professor in 1993, and Full Professor in 1998.
Academic and Administrative Roles
Throughout his academic career at Dicle University Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Ayaz held numerous administrative positions, including:

Head of the Department of Internal Medicine for 19 years
He also served four terms as a board member and one term as president of the Turkish Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (KLIMIK).

Professional Experience

In June 2018, he retired from Dicle University.

From 2018 to 2021, he served as the Head of the Department of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases at SANKO University Faculty of Medicine, where he also played an active role in the management of intensive care infections.

Between 2021 and 2023, he worked at Izmir Private Can Hospital.

In 2023, he briefly served at Izmir Medical Park Hospital.

He is currently practicing at Egepol Hospital as a Specialist in Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases.
